Training Specialist
Identify the development needs of staff and address those needs through targets trainings and development initiatives.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Training Specialist will be report to the Head of Training and Human Resources at One Acre Fund Tanzania. Their primary role will be to identify the development needs of staff and address those needs through targeted trainings and development initiatives. The ideal candidate will have an excellent understanding of adult learning principles and will apply those principles in their training implementation. They will support the Head of Training and HR to coordinate a Leadership Development course and will assist in tracking of all training and development initiatives and in holding managers accountable to investing in the growth of their staff. The Training Specialist will also work with the Language teacher on Swahili-learning initiatives for international staff members.
Primary Duties:
• Assess staff needs and build a training plan
• Assess the development needs of One Acre Fund Tanzania staff
• Evaluate assessment results and identify greatest areas of need
• Build a training plan that effectively responds to evaluation results
• Facilitate staff trainings and professional development opportunities
• Find or create resources for implementing staff training and development strategies o Prepare training and development materials and deliverables
• Facilitate trainings and development initiatives
• Follow up after trainings to ensure retention and gage progress
• Manage and coordinate Language-learning initiatives
• Work with the Swahili language teacher to motivate international staff to attend classes o Utilize tools to encourage and track learning outside of work hours (like Duolingo)
• Research and disseminate English-learning tools and resources

QUALIFICATIONS
We are seeking a candidate with strong work experience and a strong educational experience. Candidates who fit the following criteria are strongly encouraged to apply:
• Experience as a trainer / facilitator
• Exceptionally strong oral communication skills; should be comfortable and engaging when
speaking in front of large groups of people
• Strong inter-personal skills and a willingness to engage with staff
• Experience in and understanding of adult learning principles
• Advanced written communication skills
• Leadership experience at work, or outside of work
• Experience in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Powerpoint)
• Ideally will have some international experience or education
• Strong organizational skills
• Highly motivated and enthusiastic attitude
• Language: English required
